A New Year...A New YOU! Get Heidi Fit for 2010!

Give the gift of HEALTH and FITNESS this HOLIDAY Season!

Get Heidi Fit in 2010!

Skip the holiday pajamas, nix that scented candle set and—unless you want to bestow the gift of binge eating—definitely say no to the gi-normous bucket of caramel corn. If you're looking for a unique gift this year, something that really shows how much you care about someone, think about giving the gift of FITNESS!

Here's a Get Heidi Fit guide to help you perfectly match the gift of good health to both the naughty or nice on your list.

For your queen-of-excuses friend who has a million reasons why she can't ever seem to make it to class, give her a Prepaid Boot Camp class card. You can buy a specific number of classes redeemable the Manhattan Condos, so now you've excuse-proofed her workout since it's already paid for. Buy a package of 5,10, or 20 classes, as they are only $5! One of my clients recently told me that she hoped that her boyfriend would buy her a pre-paid package of personal training sessions, that way it would FORCE her to go.

For that friend that HATES to work out alone, or needs that extra motivation... you can purchase a Get Heidi Fit Tandem Session. This allows YOU to workout AND YOUR FRIEND! It's the perfect get together, while having fun and burning the calories from the overly "social" holiday :) There's no limit to how many are in the class, plus it's more affordable for everyone! Packages start at $20 per person, but decrease as your group gets larger!

For your hardworking, mover-and-shaker friend/family member who can't make time for fitness, give Get Heidi Fit One on One personal-training sessions. Instead of trying to manipulate their schedule to show up for a specific class, they'll be able to exercise one-on-one with me AND schedule appointments that work around their busy day. This is the perfect gift for that person who says "They are TOO BUSY" or "They don't have TIME."

For your frequent-flyer boss who's always on the road, get him/her an Get Heidi Fit Online Personal Training Program. This program is perfect for the person who is always on the go, and needs a routine/workout to follow when they are traveling or away from their gym. This program includes the 21 day Challenge Online Program, customized written workouts, as well as nutritional guidance. Perfect for the person in your life who is always on the go!

For the college student or gift for someone who lives out of town, the 21 Day Challenge Online Program is the perfect gift of fitness! They can challenge themselves and get on the path towards their goals with the online DAILY 21 Day Challenge. With this program, they will receive a daily email with fitness, workout, and motivational challenges. The perfect gift to challenge a loved one, and get them to their goals! And it's only $21!

Giving the gift of fitness doesn't have feel like an insult or make the person on the receiving end feel awkward or that you think they need to lose a couple of pounds. Maybe they do? Maybe they just need that encouragement and support. For that special person in your life it will show that you care about their health, make their life easier, and you will have a huge hand in helping them towards their goals!! Plus, it's a great way to jump start the New Year and 2010 New Year's Resolution!

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Acai Berry: The Superfood and Super FRUIT!

Acai Berry: Why you should take it.

For countless centuries, the people of the Amazon have revered this unique fruit for its health-promoting properties and prized it as a source of health and vitality. The remarkable health benefits of açai are continually being documented by modern science. And because of its unparalleled antioxidant levels and extraordinary nutrient content, açai is now widely regarded as one of the world's top superfoods.

Açai is rich in the following beneficial nutrients:

•Antioxidants •Phytonutrients

•Amino acids •Vitamins •Trace minerals

Açaí pulp contains:

* A remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine.
* A synergy of monounsaturated (healthy) fats, dietary fiber and phytosterols to help promote cardiovascular and digestive health.
* An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to proper muscle contraction and regeneration.

I recently started taking a juice blend called Mona Vie, and I can't tell you how big of a fan I am. I don't endorse much of anything, and I am now a HUGE FAN! I immediately wanted more information about how I could incorporate it into my daily nutrition AND how my clients/friends/family can as well...

I take the Mona Vie Active which is an advanced blend of plant-derived glucosamine and 19 body-beneficial fruits, including the Brazilian açai berry—one of nature's top superfoods. Scientifically shown to promote healthy joint function, glucosamine targets mobility and flexibility. Get moving today with this vital formula designed to support joint performance and recovery. If offers peak levels of antioxidants and phytonutrients, MonaVie Active features a synergistic blend that supports joint health.

If you are interested in trying some Mona Vie, email me and I can get you some free samples. I was not a believer or fan until I started taking this product daily and noticed how it affected me, personally! I also will be providing samples at my Boot Camp that are held on Saturdays at 10 a.m. Go to www.getheidifit.com for more information about Boot Camp.

You can go to the links below to find more information about Mona Vie and Dr. Perricone's stance on his self proclaimed Super Food!

- This will help you track your progress, and even record what you struggled with. It's an
outlet, so let it out!!

* I started this 21 day challenge 2 years ago when a fitness company came to us with this 21 day challenge concept. I LOVED IT! I saw how it inspired not only me, but my team! It kept me accountable, and that is why I loved it! I had to learn to stay disciplined on my own. I spend so much time making sure my clients and teammates are on track, that sometimes I forget to focus on myself. I've seen this challenge ignite a fire inside people! It becomes not only a "21 day" challenge, but molds into a lifestyle change. That's what I LOVE about it. But 1 thing. You HAVE to stay disciplined and finish the challenge :)
Are YOU IN?
21 days is 21 days til Thanksgiving!

Letting GO!

One of the things I LOVE about being a personal trainer and a self-proclaimed "motivator", is helping my friends, family and clients reach their goals. Whether their goals are fitness goals, nutritional goals, personal or professional; it makes me happy to see people achieve something in their life. Smalll or big. Accomplishing a goal, means checking it off and now you can make another goal. It means you are getting better. You are GROWING! I've come to realize that checking off those small goals, and accomplishing those small successes help you reach those larger, long term goals!

It helps you move FORWARD!

Moving forward isn't easy sometimes. There are aspects, situations, mind sets, issues, things, even people that hold us back from moving forward. "Things" or "People" that won't allow us to reach our goals. But is it really those "things" or those "people?" Is it "US" that won't allow the movement forward?

I recently re-read a post from someone who I admire and is one of the most encouraging people out there in the fitness industry. He is not only successful as a trainer and motivational coach, but as a person. It seems like I come across his posts when I need to hear it that day, or someone I know could use that advice. Micah Lacerte is someone who I can call a friend, but also someone who inspires ME!

His post below made me think of why some of us can't move forward in our lives, and reach those goals we soo want to achieve! Why we should just "Let Go" so we can start living and moving FORWARD!

Thanks Micah! (http://www.hitchfit.com/)

"....We all go through tough things in our lives such as personal loss, bad relationships, making poor choices, not taking care of your body, mind and soul to their toppotential. Why don't you make today the 1st day you startletting go of the negative and start focusing on thepositive in your life. If you want change YOU must make thechoice. Don't YOU deserve that? Don't YOU deserve to beHAPPY?

Let it go

By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this!

When people can walk awayfrom you: let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,

loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying

attached to you.

I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.

Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might bemade

manifest that they were not for us. For had they beenof us, no doubt

they would have continued with us. [1 John2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you.

And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over.

And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so thatyou don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell yousomething.

I've got the gift of good-bye.

It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.

It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me.

And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it.

Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains............

LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth.....

LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you.

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents

LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude.....

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feelbetter......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him........

LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.......

LET IT GO!!!I

f you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed..................

LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying 'take your hands off of it,' then you need to....

LET IT GO!!!

Let the past be the past.

Forget the former things.

GOD is doing a new thing for 2010!!

LET IT GO!!!

Thanks Micah

Get OUTSIDE! Get FIT!

The summer heat is now behind us, and it's officially Fall! Let's not take this weather for granted. It's not too hot and not quite the bitter days of Winter yet. So, GET OUTSIDE! Why not get FIT at the same time? It's the perfect weather for an outdoor workout!

I am a girl that LOVES to be outdoors. Regardless if it is for a quick run around the plaza, joining my kickball team to have some much needed adult recreational fun, cheering on my favorite NFL team on Sundays, or going to the driving range to hit some golf balls. I've found running outdoors to be my escape. Especially when the scenery is calm, quiet, and even better, when it's beautiful! Throw on the running shoes, plug in the ipod, and just GO! It's just me and my path.

I went on a run the other day, and decided to take pictures of my path. It was just me and this serene and beautiful path. The scenery helped take my mind off the normal "stresses" of life or the physical aspect of running! I love to find different paths and/or routes, and just go! I begin to forget that I'm exercising and time flies by. I like to mix in lunges, step-ups, push-ups, mountain climbers, and even better, plyometrics! It's my outdoor gym. Instead of steps or gym benches, I use the park benches or concrete for step-ups, jump ups, and incline push-ups. If there is a park, the monkey bars subsitute for a challenging pull-up machine. It's fun to get creative with your surroundings. At the end of my workout or run, it's peaceful to stretch and look at the area around me. It's the perfect end to a great workout.
Instead of procrastinating and pushing that workout until tommorow, go outside for a quick jog or walk. You can even schedule a time to go with a friend for a walk, run, or even a hike. It's definetely not too late, or chilly, to get a group of people to play basketball, soccer, or throw the football around. You can even mix it up and get creative with your workout regimen OUTDOORS!

Welcome to Get Heidi Fit

It's officially Fall and I'm so excited to get the ball rolling on the Get Heidi Fit blog. This summer has been busy for me! Training clients, training for the Chiefs season, and getting my booty campers butts in shape!! This blog will not only be my way of feeding information to my clients, but my way to vent as well :)
I know for me, hearing people's success stories, feedback, concerns, and questions help me become a better trainer!

I will start posting weekly topics starting in October regarding fitness, nutrition, image concerns, and even fashion!

Stay tuned!

Heidi
